What are your responsibilities with AIMA? "Warm Catcher's Mitt" for our AIMA Members: My role within AIMA is to champion what AIMA means to the ATL digital community. And to welcome one and all into an association that can help people grow professionally and personally.

How to get involved/help with your team? I think the easiest and best way to get involved is to simply show up — show up to an event… see how approachable we are as an association… see how we are bringing relevant content to the digital community, helping to raise the bar for our city… see how committed we are to helping connect the best & brightest in today’s marketing landscape. Show up, be present, participate. It’s really pretty simple, especially since we have either social or educational events every month.

How long have you been with AIMA? About 5 years now.

What does being involved in AIMA mean to you? Connective-ness; not only connected to extremely smart people. But also connected to great subject matter that allows me to be “in-the-know”.

How did you get started with AIMA? Like I said before, I got started by just showing up to events. It was really easy. And then I saw how AIMA included FREE access to all events through their memberships and figured this was a no-brainer. $300 for a year of inclusion!? That’s the best investment I’ve ever made in myself.

What’s the biggest value AIMA provides to you? I think the answers above showcase “value”. But beyond those, these are professional (and personal) relationships I will take to me wherever I go.

What’s your number one reason to be involved? "I’m actually going to let this quote from Teddy Roosevelt answer this and the next two questions. This personifies why I (and anyone else) should be involved, at any level, with anything they believe in. See Next."

What did you get involved with AIMA? “It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.” Get in the “arena” and strive to do something you believe in.

What do you do with your free time? I spend a lot of time with my wife, kids & friends. And if you know anything about me at all, I love food. Not only do I like to eat it… I love creating dishes and cooking. In fact, I wanted to be a chef back in the early 90’s. I put myself through college by being an apprentice for a chef, doing corporate/wedding catering.

Are you an Atlanta native or transplant? Born and raised here. And unapologetic to call Atlanta my favorite city. Sure, I love Chicago, NY, San Fran, Seattle, Portland, Dublin, etc. But Atlanta is the best of all those in one, livable city.

What is your dream job? I’d be a bartender/owner of a little pub where everyone is welcome and you eat what I am cooking.

Something you wish you could do if you had more time? I’d love to do more hiking and instill the love of the outdoors to my kids. I used to hike a lot back in my early 20’s. And I recently got back into it with some friends (all of which are also involved in AIMA) and instantly fell back in love with it again.

Bucket list item to do in the next year? Hike Mt. Ranier.

Favorite ATL hangout spot? This depends. But what it definitely involves is good food, good drinks and good people. Some of my favorite go-to’s are Porch Light Latin Kitchen, Spring Restaurant, Muss & Turner’s (Elanor’s as a speakeasy), Cooks & Soldier’s (get their chuleton/steak), etc. But I love spending time in many of Atlanta’s great neighborhoods — Edgewood, Decatur and East Atlanta Village are some of our favorite go-to’s.
