Job Description

Job Summary(Role Summary)

Responsible for managing various email programs for InterContinental Hotels Group to drive engagement and revenue at IHG hotel brands.  Support the Guest Marketing Services team and other company stakeholders to maintain an aggressive marketing calendar, manage database requirements, develop creative assets, and deploy strategic campaigns.  Analyze, track and report on project data and assigned marketing programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities(Key Activities)

  • Ensure that email marketing campaigns are in alignment with approved operational plan, budget, and timelines
  • Test effectiveness of email marketing strategies and learnings for continuous improvement
  • Keep current with competitive landscape, market trends, industry innovations and best practices across functional areas
  • Maintain awareness of integration opportunities through web / mobile / SMS / social
  • Identify opportunities for growth and efficiencies in email campaigns utilizing internal data and industry best practices

 

 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business, E-Commerce, Marketing or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

 

Experience

2-5 years progressive work-related experience with demonstrated mastery of technical and business knowledge and understanding of multiple disciplines/processes related to the email marketing. Ideally looking for 2 years experience in E-Commerce and/or the travel industry. Experience with StrongMail or Unica a plus.

Technical Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrated project management experience in organizing, planning and executing marketing projects from conception through implementation.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing information to clients, vendors, senior management and staff.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in business software products such as Excel, Microsoft Access, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of Internet systems, marketing programs, and email deployment tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with email vendors, regional teams, and agencies.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and research abilities.  Demonstrated ability to use the results of investigation and analysis to make effective strategic decisions.

Decision making responsibilities (Key Decision Rights):

  • This position makes decisions on campaign creative, content, segmentation (personalization) and targeting.
  • This person makes decisions on list growth/acquisition initiatives
  • This position makes initial calendar (time and day) and campaign deployment (volume and flow) recommendations.
  • This position makes decisions on future campaign improvements/changes based on past campaign performance.

Internal Key Relationships  

  • Guest Marketing (all regions) - collaborate on campaign strategy and execution
  • Analytics - collaborate on list pulls, test design and campaign analysis
  • Legal – review development of content for all campaigns

External Key Relationships

  • Email Vendor, Creative Agency and Deliverability Partner - Manage ongoing relationship
