Front End Web Developer (HTML/CSS Builder)

Position Summary:

The Front End Web Developer is a crucial role in the agency. This person builds out page structures and templates based on design work provided by Web Designers. Our Front End Web Developers take a graphic Web design and create an exact match in HTML and CSS. The Front End Web Developer is also called upon to investigate solutions for interactions on pages (eg: JQuery, or javascript/CSS dynamics) Versioning of creative work is also a part of the job.

Time spent in this position is divided between HTML/CSS page builds (70%) front-end design (15%) and Flash/gif banner development (15%).

Duties and Responsibilities:

HTML / CSS BUILDS

• Take designs in fireworks PNG format and slice out optimized component images for use in HTML/CSS page builds
• Work directly with designers to ensure page builds include interactive elements and dynamics as intended
• Create W3C / cross browser-platform compliant page code
• Create cross-client compatible HTML emails
• Confer with UCD specialist for user interaction / form processes
• Work within ExpressionEngine CMS page templates

OTHER

• Work with Web Project Manager to ensure deadlines are met.
• Always look for better, more cost-effective and efficient ways to accomplish page and site builds
• Stay current and knowledgeable in the areas of search engine optimization, information architecture, user interface design and related software/hardware by reading industry publications, books, Web sites and participating in training courses/seminars.
