WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

 

Reporting to the Director, Internet Store Operations, the Online User Experience Manager is responsible for defining and optimizing the FootSmart.com customer experience while  maximizing the revenue potential of the online business.  The individual we seek will play a key role in defining and implementing new site features/functionality, enhancing site usability, and identifying and executing revenue enhancing programs that drive conversion, increase user satisfaction and increase affinity for the FootSmart brand.

 

The User Experience Manager Manager will  define strategy, roadmaps, and implementation plans for website optimizations across both the front end shopping experience and the back end shopping cart/checkout funnel.  You will be an experienced manager who understands e-commerce, web retail business requirements, user-centric design methods, and utilizes quantitative & qualitative analytics to make decisions.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Use strategic analyses and customer research to drive business decisions to optimize the website, leading to increased online revenue, conversion rate and customer retention.
  • Lead and project manage cross functional teams and web initiatives that include Marketing, I.T., Merchandising and Creative in the development of customer driven web requirements for new site features and functionality including discovery/scoping, development, deployment and implementation within tight timelines, all according to established design standards and web best practices.
  • Ensure that the website’s look and feel, usability, information architecture, capabilities and content meet established brand and industry standards.
  • Recommend and manage implementation of new site functionalities and interactive features that enhance the consumer shopping experience including features like Product Reviews, Guided Navigation, Personalization, Product Detail page enhancements, etc.
  • Lead and implement improvements to the checkout funnel – achieving simplicity, clarity, and efficiency to reduce shopping cart abandonment and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Providing ongoing tracking and analysis of consumer behavior through quantitative and qualitative customer research, market analysis, competitive analysis and site analytics. - integrating customer feedback to inform/improve site functionality and product presentation requirements.
  • Monitor competitive and industry best practices and serve as a resource to the Internet/ Marketing teams on these topics.
  • Manage vendor partner relationships including weekly meetings, contract renewals and account management for Bazaarvoice, Optimost, Scene 7 and other website vendors.
  • Build detailed test recommendations and implement test plans for all medium and large Web projects utilizing usability labs, surveys, AB testing & multi-variate testing utilizing Optimost, etc.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years in an Online User Experience (UE) role working for an online e-commerce marketer (retailer, media, travel, financial services, etc.)
  • BS/BA degree in business, marketing, operations, human factors engineering or related field.
  • Experience with leading/managing third party vendors in the areas of site analytics, on-site search, email deployment, and content including user generated content and site functionality; understanding of online retailing best practices and technology applications strongly preferred; familiarity with Endeca, Optimost, Bazaarvoice a plus
  • Significant experience in consumer usability research, AB & Multivariate testing.
  • Significant experience in web usability implementation including product scoping, website design, U.I. design specifications, design of business requirements
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a track record of success in leading cross-functional initiatives
  • Proven experience with web analytics including CoreMetrics, Omniture, etc.  Ability to perform funnel analyses to understand Shopping Cart behaviors
  • Experience working with product based data – developing dynamic navigation and customer facing usability enhancements
  • Excellent technical skills including experience with business requirements document writing, web technology integration, website process development and system monitoring/reporting.
  • Strong creative skills – wire-framing, prototypes, giving creative direction, basic HTML, interface design
